Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center Launches Intensive Outpatient Program to Expand Behavioral Health Services
6/26/2025
POPLAR BLUFF, MO – Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center (PBRMC) is proud to announce the launch of its new Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), a significant addition to its behavioral health services. This program is designed to provide structured, non-residential treatment for individuals facing mental health challenges, offering a flexible alternative to inpatient care.
The IOP at PBRMC offers a multidisciplinary approach, combining individual therapy and group sessions. This structure allows patients to receive intensive support while maintaining their daily routines, such as work or school commitments. The program focuses on equipping individuals with coping strategies, stress management techniques, and relapse prevention skills, fostering long-term mental wellness.
"Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a testament to our commitment to accessible, quality mental health care," said Shelby Searles, Director of Behavioral Health Services at PBRMC. "We recognize the importance of providing flexible treatment options that cater to the diverse needs of our community."
The introduction of the IOP complements PBRMC's existing behavioral health services, which include short-term inpatient stabilization for acute psychiatric patients aged 18 and older. By bridging the gap between inpatient care and traditional outpatient services, the IOP ensures continuity of care and supports patients in their journey toward recovery.
To celebrate the opening of the new Intensive Outpatient Program, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, July 8th at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the IOP location and is open to the public. Community members, healthcare professionals, and local leaders are invited to attend and tour the new facilities.
