Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center Medical Staff Honors National Doctors’ Day with Donations to Local Organizations
3/30/2026
POPLAR BLUFF, MO, March 30, 2026 – In celebration of National Doctors’ Day, the medical staff at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center (PBRMC) has once again chosen to give back to the community in a meaningful way. This year, physicians donated a total of $6,000 to two local nonprofit organizations, $3,000 to Haven House and $3,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Poplar Bluff, in lieu of receiving traditional tokens of appreciation.
National Doctors’ Day, observed annually on March 30, recognizes physicians for their dedication, skill, and commitment to improving the health and well-being of their patients. In keeping with that spirit, PBRMC’s medical staff elected to extend their impact beyond the hospital walls by supporting organizations that serve vulnerable populations and strengthen the community.
“On behalf of the entire medical staff, we are proud to support organizations that make such a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community,” Chief of Staff Silvia Pagoada, M.D., said. “Physicians see every day how important strong community resources are to the health and well-being of our patients. Donating to these local civic organizations in honor of Doctors’ Day is a small way for us to give back and recognize the vital role they play in supporting families across our region.”
Haven House provides shelter, advocacy, and support services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, while the Boys & Girls Club of Poplar Bluff offers a safe and supportive environment for youth through educational programs, mentorship, and recreational opportunities.
“Doctors’ Day is an opportunity to recognize the compassion and commitment our physicians demonstrate every day,” said Clyde Wood, chief executive officer of Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. “Their decision to give back to organizations like Haven House and the Boys & Girls Club reflects their deep dedication not only to their patients, but to the overall well-being of our community.”
This annual tradition highlights the generosity of PBRMC’s medical staff, who continue to honor their profession through service, both inside and outside the hospital. As in previous years, the decision to donate underscores a shared commitment to improving lives and supporting meaningful causes throughout the Poplar Bluff region.
Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center remains committed to providing quality, compassionate care while supporting initiatives that enhance the health and vitality of the communities it serves.
