Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center to Host Lantern Ceremony in Honor of Pregnancy & Infant Loss
9/23/2025
Event Details:
- Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2025
- Time: 6:30 p.m.
- Location: Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s Cafeteria
The Lantern Ceremony is hosted by PBRMC’s Leaves of Hope Bereavement Program, part of the Women & Children’s Department. Attendees will light lanterns, share stories, and join together in a space of collective grief, hope, and connection.
PBRMC’s Leaves of Hope Bereavement Program provides essential emotional and practical support to families navigating the loss of a pregnancy or an infant. The program offers memory-making opportunities such as photographs, handprints, footprints, and memory boxes to assist families on their healing journey.
“We understand the immense heartache families face after such a loss,” said Donna Hill, R.N., team lead for PBRMC’s bereavement committee. “Our mission is to ensure that they feel supported, not only through immediate care, but also through meaningful opportunities for remembrance.”
To support Leaves of Hope, PBRMC has launched a t-shirt fundraiser in September 2025. The specially designed shirts, available in two designs, will be sold for $25 each. All proceeds will go directly to the Leaves of Hope Bereavement Program.
- Sale Period: All of September 2025
- On-site Sales: During the first two weeks of October, shirts will also be available for purchase in the hospital cafeteria
