Join Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s Heart Month Celebrations
1/31/2023
POPLAR BLUFF, MO – February is American Heart Month. It’s a time for Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center (PBRMC) healthcare providers to talk with our community about heart health, wellness and heart disease prevention. The PBRMC healthcare warriors make it their mission, not only today but every day, to fight one of the country’s most costly and deadly diseases.
Heart disease can impact anyone. So, PBRMC is hosting events throughout the month of February to provide education about heart health and heart disease prevention. Events include:
Friday, February 3 is National Wear Red Day/Go Red for Women. Join PBRMC staff in wearing red on Friday, Feb 3. Additionally, Mayor Steve Davis will join us for a special announcement at 9 a.m.
Friday, February 17 PBRMC will hold its “Heart Health Lunch & Learn” event at the Westwood Event Center from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., where you’ll be able to talk with healthcare specialists about heart care, enjoy free screenings, a heart-healthy lunch and schedule an appointment with a heart specialist. Registration is free and required.
During Heart Month, PBRMC will be raising funds for the American Heart Association. Donations can be made online or in the PBRMC Gift Shop. Those who donate are eligible for a long-sleeve Heart Month t-shirt (while supplies last) and can be picked up in the hospital gift shop, located near the cafeteria, between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m Monday – Friday. To donate, text PBRMCheart to 71777.
Adding on to the events, PBRMC invites you to celebrate American Heart Month by accepting a challenge. Sign up for our 28-Day Healthy Heart Challenge and we will send you an email every day in February featuring bite-sized articles, tips and a daily challenge to help reduce your risk of heart disease and boost your heart health.
