Emergency Room Physician Recognized

Poplar Bluff, MO- June 6, 2016 - Each year, there are more than 36,000 visits to the Emergency Department at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. On average, that’s over 100 patients per day in need of life-saving care. The team providing that care was recently recognized for outstanding leadership at the Schumacher Clinical Medical Director’s Conference in Las Vegas.
Dr. Ken Stone, Emergency Department medical director at PBRMC, was the recipient of one of only two awards given nationally to medical directors who work for Schumacher/HPP, a company that provides medical leadership and staffing for approximately 300 emergency department facilities across the country.
"This is really an award for the entire Emergency Department,” said Dr. Stone. “Over the past three years, every team member in our facility has worked to improve the experience for our patients. We have made amazing strides in providing not just quality care, but faster care when it’s needed most ¬¬-- when lives are at stake.”
“I want to thank our entire team for their hard work and compassionate care,” he added. “This award is really for them. Leadership only works when everyone is mutually invested in each other's success."
Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center CEO Larry Rodgers commended Dr. Stone and the entire emergency department team for their dedication to patient care.
