9/13/2024
POPLAR BLUFF, MO — Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center (PBRMC) has welcomed Tony Torres as its new chief operating officer (COO), effective September 9, 2024. Torres joins PBRMC with years of operation experience, most recently serving as the market assistant chief executive officer for the AllianceHealth Durant and Madill hospitals in Southeastern Oklahoma.
Previously, Torres served as an assistant administrator at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, Texas. He has helped hospitals advance service line initiatives, enhance safe, quality care and expand access to care. His experience includes managing vital ancillary support services, including laboratory and radiology and he has a proven track record in physician engagement and recruitment.
A native of Idaho, Torres understands the unique challenges in providing healthcare to rural and underserved communities. “Growing up in an area with limited access to specialty care has given me a passion for ensuring that communities like Poplar Bluff receive high-quality, accessible healthcare,” said Torres. “I look forward to working alongside the talented team at PBRMC to further this mission.”
Torres holds a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University Idaho and a dual master’s degree in healthcare and business administration from Idaho State University.
