New Radiation Oncologist Joins the Medical Staff with Regional Physician Services
9/23/2022
Jay Locke, M.D., FACRO, has joined the medical staff with Regional Physician Services.
Dr. Locke previously was the medical director of the department of radiation oncology of Lake Pointe Hospital in Rowlett, TX, and served as an independent radiation oncology contractor for the past several years in various locations. Dr. Locke was originally recruited to be an extended contractor for the Danny Bell Cancer Center, however, it soon became apparent it was a good fit for both, and he was offered the position permanently.
Dr. Locke graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, and completed his residency in radiation oncology at Washington University School of Medicine at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Upon completion, he was asked to join the staff where he performed both clinical care and research in his field, subsequently being promoted to Assistant Professor tenure track.
Dr. Locke will join the practice of Regional Physician Services and is accepting new patients at the Danny Bell Cancer Center. Areas of experience include IMRT/IGRT, SRS, SBRT, HDR (breast, gyn) and seed implants (prostate). He is certified in radiation treatment. He is a fellow of the American College of Radiology (FACRO) and participates in local and national committees related to radiation oncology.
“Cancer care is something I feel honored to do, I give my best efforts to ensure everything is optimal for each individual patient’s needs,” said Dr. Locke. “Working with the PBRMC team, I feel we can provide the same level of treatment as patients might find at a major metro center.”
“Dr. Locke brings many years of experience in the field of radiation oncology. When combined with his enthusiastic leadership of programs and dedication to patients and community, he is the perfect match for PBRMC,” said CEO Rick Naegler. “We look forward to his many years of service and partnership and welcome him to our family of physicians.”
He will maintain office hours Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. He is currently accepting new patients. For more information, www.regionalphysicianservices.com/doctors-providers or call 573-776-9216.
