Internal Medicine Residency Program
Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s, in collaboration with Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM), internal medicine residency program.
The internal medicine residency is a three year program designed to train skillful physicians and instill ethical modes of practice within a community hospital setting. Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is a full service medical center with two campuses licensed for 410 beds in rural southeast Missouri. The region expands to many surrounding counties providing residents opportunities to serve diverse populations.
Our learning environment offers experiences that allow each resident to discover the best in themselves and to become competent, proficient and professional physicians. Residents will learn from direct patient care, morning report, bedside rounds and a robust didactic schedule that complements the rotations. Additionally, residents will have an active role with quality improvement committees and patient safety initiatives.
The internal medicine program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and approved for 18 positions, six (6) residents each PGY. We accept both D.O. and M.D. applicants through ERAS. Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center does not sponsor visas or allow observerships.
